Take-Two might delay a major title to Q1 2011

March 3, 2010

In their financial results briefing today, Take-Two hinted that one of their major 2010 titles might be pushed back to 2011. Which ones you ask? Well, it could be Max Payne 3. It might be L.A. Noire, though. Actually, Sid Meier’s Civilization V might be jumping on the ship to next year. Wait, wait, fuggedaboutit — it’s definitely Mafia II.

We don’t know which one of the titles it will be — or if it’ll even happen.

L.A. Noire, Mafia II, Max Payne 3 and Sid Meier’s Civilization V are all planned for release in the fourth fiscal quarter… however, the Company’s fiscal year 2010 guidance reflects the potential movement of one of these titles into fiscal 2011,” said the announcement.

The Q1 2011 delay doesn’t necessarily mean the game would come out next year, though. The fiscal 2011 begins in November, so if any one of those titles gets pushed back, there’s still a slight chance we may see it on store shelves by the end of this year.
