March 16, 2010

UBM TechWeb Game Network announced their Game Developer’s Conference established a new record for attendance in a news release yesterday, saying more 18,250 gaming industry professionals attended the event, up from 17,000 the previous year.

The conference, which took place in San Francisco’s Moscone Convention Center, featured more than 400 lectures from industry professionals. They also announced next year’s GDC will take place February 28 to March 4 at the same venue.

GDC 10 will probably be most remembered as the event where Sony unveiled their motion controller, the PlayStation Move. Naughty Dog’s Uncharted 2 also won big at the GDC cawards, taking home five awards, including Game of the Year. Let’s see what happens at GDC 11.
