BAFTA Awards honor Batman: Arkham Asylum, other stellar titles
The British Academy of Film and Television Arts held their awards ceremony last week, and, surprisingly, they didn’t just hand everything to Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. Taking home best game for 2009 was Batman: Arkham Asylum, which beat out Assassin’s Creed 2, Left 4 Dead 2, FIFA 10 and the aforementioned Uncharted 2 for top honors. The game that finally made Batman relevant in video games again also took home a BAFTA for best gameplay. Here’s the full list of categories and winners:

Shigeru Miyamoto received the Academy Fellowship at the show, with the academy calling him the “‘Steven Spielberg’ of the gaming world.”
