Xbox 360 gets 250GB hard drive

March 23, 2010

Major Nelson let us know via Twitter that you can now purchase a standalone 250 GB hard drive for your Xbox 360, in the case you thought 120 GB was too small and don’t like saving things on USB devices. So now, you should have no problem saving your entire Rock Band and Guitar Hero collections and all that DLC you’ve been prone to downloading.

What makes this interesting to me is this: When the Xbox 360 launched, the Pro bundle came with a 20 GB hard drive — which seemed like more than enough at the time, right? All you had to worry about were your game saves and maybe some games (like Halo 2) had DLC. Now, it seems like every game the industry pumps out is supported by DLC after its release, making larger hard drives a must.

What do you guys think? And will you be purchasing any space upgrades in the future?
