[Update] Infinity Wardgate: Three more staffers depart

April 13, 2010

The exodus of high level Infinity Ward employees continues as Jon Shiring, Bruce Ferriz and Mackey McCandlish have announced their resignations early this week. Shiring, a programmer at IW, resigned from the company via his Twitter account on April 12.

“After almost 6 years at Infinity Ward, I resigned today. I’m incredibly proud of everything we accomplished and I’m going to miss everyone,” Shiring’s Twitter post said. Shiring has been with IW for five years, 11 months according to his LinkedIn profile and he left the same day Respawn Entertainment, Jason West and Vince Zampella’s new start-up with Electronic Arts, was announced. Shiring was a programmer for Call of Duty 2 and both Modern Warfare games according to 1Up.

Joining Shiring in his departure are McCandlish and Ferriz, a designer who was with IW for eight years and credited with additional writing duties according to Kotaku.Ferriz was a senior animator at IW and has joined Big Red Button Entertainment – a Santica Monica, Calif. based developer – to work on an unannounced project according to GameInformer.

Ferriz, Shiring and McCandlish make five employees who’ve left IW since Zampella and West were fired. This includes lead designer Todd Alderman and lead software engineer Francesco Gigliotti who left IW last week.

Who’s next?

[Update: We previously reported only two more IW staff members left the company. Ben Ferizz is also one of the staffers who left Infinity Ward, making it three more who left the company and bringing the total (including West and Zampella) to five.]
