Rumor Mill: Marvel vs. Capcom 3 imminent, Super Street Fighter IV to PC?
With Captivate 2010 happening right now in Hawaii, the island is rumbling with rumors about a major announcement that could happen as soon as later this week.
Team Spooky, also known as the guy(s) who leaked out the existence of the upcoming Super Street Fighter IV before it was officially confirmed, have been dropping hints that Marvel vs. Capcom 3 is on show at the event, which is closed off to only a handful of reporters and all showings embargoed at least until Monday.
Some of their findings include new domain registrations by Capcom, the sudden reawakening of the Vs. Capcom twitter feed and, more interestingly, some teasing hints from Ryan Penagos, editor of Marvel.com, by way of his Twitter account, who also happens to be in Hawaii on business.
“In Hawaii giving media a look at something super seeeeekrit. All will be revealed next week,” Penagos said in one tweet.
In a March 30 post, by Henkai states that, along with Marvel vs. Capcom 3 being revealed around May, Super Street Fighter IV will also be getting a PC release announced very soon.
With Capcom embracing some fan edits of characters’ outfits as well as a healthy modding community for the original Street Fighter IV (Zangief as Hulk Hogan? M Bison (Dictator) as Apocalypse?), this is unsurprising, but still a no-doubt welcomed move for fans.
Here’s hoping Marvel vs. Capcom 3 is every bit as fun as its predecessors and that the shouts of tubed potato snacks, scoops of ice cream and defamatory comments toward a certain basketball team ring out louder than present over Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network.
