Equipment stolen at Los Angeles Super Street Fighter IV event

April 24, 2010

Capcom is asking for the Internet’s help in finding those who stole equipment from filmmakers iam8bit Productions during last night’s Super Street Fighter IV Fight Club event in Los Angeles.

According to an email sent to IGN by Jon Gibson, founder of iam8bit, the production was missing around 11:30 p.m. The equipment — a Mac Book Pro, two Kodak zi8 HD camra and several SD cards — contained hours of footage the crew took from the event.

“Seriously, this footage meant the world to us. It was important to Daigo. It was important to Capcom,” said Gibson in the e-mail. “We produce these kinds of events for the fans, and for the evidence of such a night to be ripped out from under us – well, it hurts. It really hurts.”

Gibson is offering a reward for the return of at least the footage, if not all of the stolen equipment. If you have information on the theft, you can contact Gibson here.
