More staffers leave Infinity Ward, join Respawn

April 27, 2010

The new studio formed by ousted Infinity Ward execs, Jason West and Vince Zampella, got some new talent working for them — or old talent, depending on how you perceive this bit of news.

According to their LinkedIn profiles, senior software engineer Chris Lambert and designer Brent McLeod have left Infinity Ward and joined West and Zampella’s Respawn studio. Also abandoning ship, according to their Facebook accounts, are lead character artist Joel Emslie and artists Ryan Lastimosa and Brad Allen. They’ve yet to join Respawn, but we’ll be on the lookout.

I was initially skeptical that the initial firing of West and Zampella would have much of an impact on the Modern Warfare franchise, but given the steady destruction of Infinity Ward’s roster, it looks like future iterations of the popular shooter will be a lot different. Whether it’s a good different or bad different — well, we’ll just have to wait and see.

Thanks, Joystiq.
