Sims 3 will be simlishing on consoles, DS this Fall

April 27, 2010

If you’re a Sims fan but (for some reason) haven’t played the franchise’s most recent installment, you might be happy to hear EA announced you’ll have more choices as far as what platform to play it on goes.

This fall, The Sims 3, which released on PC and Mac last summer, will be hitting PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii and DS. The game was EA’s biggest PC launch ever and was 2009’s best-selling PC game.

The PS3 and 360 versions of the game will have “all-new features” that allow players to mess with the lives of their Sims more easily. The “Karma Powers” offer instant control of a Sims fate by giving him or her luck, beauty or cursing them with “epic fail,” according to the EA press release. Of course, there’ll also be online connectivity via PSN or Xbox Live so you can share your creations with your buddies online. The Wii version will have an exclusive beach town with unique residents, careers and lifetime wishes. The first ever DS Sims game will allow players to sculpt their Sims facial features and build their homes using the stylus. I wonder how similar that one will be to The Sims 3 on iPhone.

An exact date has yet to be provided for the console and DS release of the game, but we’ll let you know once we hear something. In the meantime, you can get your Sims fix by picking up the PC or Mac version or checking out the official site.
