16 former Infinity Warders now with Respawn Entertainment

May 2, 2010

While the addition of Bungie to their lineup was definitely a good idea — it’s  sure to bring in the benjies in the long run — Activision probably isn’t thinking the way they handled the Infinity Ward situation was as great of an idea.

Since ousted Infinity Ward execs Jason West and Vince Zampella announced the formation of Respawn Entertainment (and its partnering with EA), 16 former Infinity Warders have signed on with the new studio, according to a G4 report. Needless to say, I think some Infinity Warders felt a bit more loyal to their pals West and Zampella than they did to Mr. Kotick.

While this doesn’t bode well for the future of Modern Warfare titles, it does at least give us hope that we’ll play something of the same caliber in the future — except this time, of course, there’ll be an EA stamp on the boxart.
