Starcraft II zerg rushing to America July 27

May 3, 2010

One for the most eagerly anticipated Real Time Strategy games is closer to being in the hands of players as Blizzard confirmed Starcraft II: Wings of Liberty and its collector’s edition will be hitting stores on July 27.

This is when the game will hit several regions across the world, including the United States, Canada, Europe, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand, Russia, Mexico, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines, and the regions of Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau.

That’s quite a bit of land there.

“We’ve been looking forward to revisiting the StarCraft universe for many years, and we’re excited that the time for that is almost here,” said Mike Morhaime, CEO and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment. “Thanks to our beta testers, we’re making great progress on the final stages of development, and we’ll be ready to welcome players all over the world to StarCraft II and the new Battle.net in just a few months.”

The collector’s edition contains some sweet extras, like the soundtrack, an artbook and special download content for both Starcraft II and World of Warcraft.

If you’re an RTS fan and haven’t booked this for pick up yet, it may be a good time to consider it.
