World of Warcraft on the iPad?

May 3, 2010

If one of the bajillion of you who purchased an iPad want to play World of Warcraft on Apple’s magical device, you may just be in luck.

Dave Perry, the co-founder of Shiny Entertainment and the dude who’s bringing you that other cloud-computing service known as Gaikai, uploaded a picture on his blog today that shows him playing everyone’s favorite MMO on the iPad. He says the game is being streamed from a Gaikai server via WiFi. Pretty neat, eh?

“We’re really interested to see what works well with streaming and will be trying just about every genre of game, on every device possible as we explore server-side computing,” he wrote on the blog post.

While it doesn’t necessarily confirm you’ll be hunting for frost lotuses on the iPad any time soon, Perry just showed as at the very least that it’s somewhat possible. Keep your fingers crossed, I guess.

Thanks, IndustryGamers.
