EA announces October release for new Medal of Honor

May 6, 2010

EA announced their modernized version of Medal of Honor will be hitting shelves in October yesterday, bringing even more “modern” first-person shooter saturation to the video game marketplace. North America will be getting the shooter on October 12 and Europeans can snatch it three days later on October 15. This game will mark the first time the series leaves its World War II setting, and millions of fans are wondering why (right?).

“Medal of Honor is an authentic look into today’s war. Inspired by real people and real events, the game puts players in the boots of today’s warrior — from the infantry ground pounder to the Tier 1 Operator,” said Greg Goodrich, Executive Producer of Medal of Honor in an EA press release. “We are proud of this piece because it offers a glimpse into the game we’re creating, while also showing the mindset of these warriors.”

The single-player campaign is being made by EA Los Angeles, and the multiplayer is being developed by EA Digital Illusions CE AB. Will you be answering the, er, call to duty in October?
