Fallout: New Vegas collector’s edition to include poker chips, other cool stuff

May 11, 2010

Let’s face it; you knew this was coming. Every blockbuster (or even wannabe blockbuster) game now-a-days has to get its own collector’s edition, and it was only a matter of time until we heard about Fallout: New Vegas’ mega-edition. Going with the Las Vegas theme, the set will include a set of poker chips, called the “Lucky 7” chips. Accordingly, there will be seven chips, with each chip representing one of the seven major casinos found in the New Vegas strip or the Mojave wasteland. An eighth chip, which is so much cooler than the other seven chips it gets its own sentence, is also included and named the “Lucky 38” platinum chip, which will apparently be a coveted item in the actual game.

A deck of customized playing cards featuring characters and factions encountered throughout the game, a hardcover graphic novel named “All Roads” and a making-of documentary DVD complete the list of goodies found in the collector’s edition. Oh, and as an added bonus, those who buy the CE will get the actual game as well. Ain’t that a bargain?!

The game is set for release this fall for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. No pricing information for the CE was available at the time of this writing, but we’ll keep you posted.

[Update: While Bethesda didn’t offer any info regarding the collector edition’s pricing, GameStop has the console version priced at $79.99 and the PC version at $69.99.]
