Halo: Reach officially reaching for Sept. 14 release

May 24, 2010

Mark your calendars, Spartans.

Halo: Reach is on its way, and Microsoft officially announced Sept. 14 as the highly-anticipated prequel’s release date. The game will be Bungie’s fifth (if you count ODST as one) Halo installment — and likely its last for a while, considering the praised developer recently signed a multi-year publishing deal with Activision, and the studio’s expressed an interest in developing games aside from Halo.

The game’s multiplayer component recently wrapped up its multiplayer beta last week, after Bungie graciously granted the millions playing it another day of rigorous testing. If you didn’t get a chance to play the beta, you were probably in Antarctica or something, and you’ll sadly have to wait until mid-September to step into Noble team’s boots.

Whoah, there! That’s only about four months from now, buddy! Stop head butting that sidewalk in frustration! Stop it!
