E3 2010: Sega rides Sonic Free Riders to Kinect

June 14, 2010

On top of all the titles Microsoft demoed on stage at its press conference, Sega is whipping out one more Sonic title for the Kinect’s launch.

Sonic Free Riders is the third in the Riders series, where Sonic and his furry friends hop on airboards in a party racer. While the first game focused on air power and the second on gravity power, this one aims to involve movement.

Using Kinect, players will maneuver their bodies to control the character (either a Sonic character or an Avatar) on customizable boards, doing motions such as throwing, shaking or swinging their arms to use items picked up on the track.

Not much else was shown on the title, nor was it confirmed to be exclusive to the system.
